To everyone’s surprise, not least mine, my little retirement hobby has turned into one of Suffolk’s much loved restaurants. People come from all over East Anglia to eat blue cheese soup with beetroot swiss roll, water buffalo and orange stew, lime and basil cheesecake, tuna and broad bean custard and dozens of other original dishes.
I will be 75 next year and am not as energetic as I was when the doors opened for the first time on All Fools’ Day 2011. The restaurant is only open now for one weekend per month and I have reduced the number we seat down to 18 per night. But I still adore cooking Farmhouse Fine Dining Suppers for my loyal clientele and cannot quite give it up.
One night a month
We are open on the first Friday night of each month. Reservations are essential
